Last month, the Pendleton School District focused on attendance. The district-wide goal for attendance is 94%, while Sunridge Middle School currently has a 95% rate.
According to Dave Williams, Principal at Sunridge:
We recognize students with perfect and near-perfect attendance throughout the school year (they receive a certificate and name recognition on our website and in the newspaper). We usually do this twice a year.
We also recognize students for no tardies – we have no tardy parties three times during the school year and give students root beer floats to recognize that they are on time to class every day.
