Pendleton School District 2025-26 State Assessment Results
The Pendleton School District has received the 2025-2026 state assessment results from the Oregon Department of Education. The Statewide Assessment System (SBAC) includes summative assessments administered annually, as required by the State and Federal Departments of Education. These assessments are given to students in grades 3 – 8 and 11 in the areas of math, language arts and science.
Elementary Rates of Meeting the Benchmark:
- Grade 3: PSD – ELA 1%, Math 33.0%, – State Averages: ELA 41.5%, Math 41.3%
- Grade 4: PSD – ELA 3%, Math 25.5%, – State Averages: ELA 43.5%, Math 38.9%
- Grade 5: PSD – ELA 2%, Math 20.8%, Science 25.9% – State Averages: ELA 47.1%, Math 32.4%, Science 30.8%
Secondary Rates of Meeting the Benchmark:
- Grade 6: PSD – ELA 39.9%, Math 22.2%, – State Averages: ELA 41.8%, Math 29.7%
- Grade 7: PSD – ELA 33.9%, Math 19.6%, – State Averages: ELA 45.3%, Math 33.3%
- Grade 8: PSD – ELA 33.5%, Math 27.9%, Science 26.6% – State Averages: ELA 41.5%, Math 30.0%, Science 27.7%
- Grade 11: PSD – ELA 34.9%, Math 18.2%, Science 40.3% – State Averages: ELA 46.0%, Math 22.9%, Science 33.8%
Highlights: Significant gains in grade 3, 6, and 11
- Grade 3: 8% gain in ELA and 4.3% gain in Math
- Grade 6: 3% gain in ELA and 9.5% gain in Math
- Grade 11: 9.4% gain in Math and 10.2% gain in Science
PSD places great value on how each student group performs year to year, known as a cohort group. This year we would like to highlight two cohort group achievements. The 5th grade group had 16.7% more students meet the ELA benchmark over the previous year. The 7th grade group had 6.9% more students meet the Math benchmark over the previous year.

PSD administrators, teachers, and staff continually work toward academic improvement and success for all students across all subject areas. While we recognize there is room for growth in many areas identified in our state assessment results, we also see encouraging signs of progress—particularly the strong growth demonstrated in 3rd, 6th and 11th grades. These bright spots show what is possible when instruction, support, and student effort come together.
Moving forward, the district will continue the progress being made in establishing stronger, more aligned communities of practice amongst our teacher groups. Most importantly, we remain focused on the daily teaching and learning in our classrooms, continually striving to strengthen instruction and ensure every student is supported in reaching their full potential.
We are proud of the gains we have seen and remain committed to turning these pockets of excellence into consistent growth across all grade levels.
